SWikS Vibration Monitoring of Wind Turbines with Intelligent Low-Cost Sensor Systems The increasing size of wind turbines causes greater vibrations and deformations. Comprehensive monitoring can incorporate this into operation and maintenance to increase efficiency and service life. Commercially available monitoring systems use expensive sensors and lack intelligent data analysis. The aim of the project is to develop an intelligent sensor system with an integrated evaluation algorithm based on low-cost sensors. The solution comprises three measuring systems and an evaluation platform for data transmission, storage and flexible analysis. Through requirements analysis, demonstrator development, laboratory tests and field validation on real turbines, the aim is to develop a scalable, cost-efficient monitoring system.
