LUKIE
AI-based estimations of energy demand related to industrial facilities in early phases of planning projects under application of meshfree methods

Industrial building projects such as renovation, repurposing, or new construction face challenges in accurately estimating future energy demands. Conventional “rule of thumb” values are often imprecise, while detailed simulations in early planning phases are too complex and data-intensive, leading to discrepancies and additional costs. The LUKIE project aims to develop an AI-based estimator that reliably predicts the energy needs of both the building and the production and logistics facilities it contains at an early stage. To achieve this, a system taxonomy with various application scenarios is created, using simulation models to generate energy profiles for different configurations as training data for the AI. Later, real-world data will also be incorporated. BIBA focuses on developing a catalog of energy consumptions for machines and processes, as well as modeling and simulating relevant production and logistics processes.
