SIMKAB Simplifizierte Kabine The joint research project SIMKAB is supposed to react to the future challenge of strongly growing passenger and cargo traffic in the domain of aviation. Concepts for a simplified and flexible standardized passenger and cargo cabin have to be developed to handle the future demand of transport performance in an economic and ecological way. The subproject cargo system explores the feasibility of new technologies in loading systems in aircrafts. The aim of this subproject is to analyse a worldwide applicability of active RFID in order to identify ULDs (unit load devices) such as containers or pallets while loading and unloading aircrafts.
