Welcome

The objective of our department Planning and Control of Production and Logistics Systems (PSPS) is to contribute to the holistic optimization of production systems, specifically the interdisciplinary development, application and conveyance of new concept and methods in planning and control. Topics of consideration not only include aspects of technology, information and communication technology, but social-technical systems as well. They can pertain to single enterprises along the value chain, but also to entire production networks. Results from our research are applied to industrial projects and are integrated into the teaching material as well. The department works in close cooperation with Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH. The department Planning and Control of Production Systems (PSPS) was established in 2000 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Scholz-Reiter, who was elected Rector of the University of Bremen in 2012. In 2014, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Freitag was appointed as full professor of Planning and Control of Production and Logistics Systems and became head of the department. Prof. Freitag is also director of BIBA - Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH.
